Microsoft Exchange Remote Connectivity Analyser
Over on the Microsoft Exchange Team Blog (http://msexchangeteam.com) they have announced the release of a new tool enabling the administrator to verify that the Internet-facing services of their Exchange server are functioning correctly. Services that can be tested include:
- Server ActiveSync (push email)
- ActiveSync AutoDiscover (the feature that enables a suitable client to automatically determine the correct connection settings to use based solely on the user's email address)
- Outlook 2007 AutoDiscover (the feature that enables Outlook 2007 clients to automatically determine the correct RCP over HTTP(s) settings to use based solely on the user's email address - AKA Outlook Anywhere)
- Outlook 2003 RPC/HTTP (Outlook Anywhere)
- Inbound SMTP (verifies that the correct firewall ports and DNS configuration entries have been applied)
The tool can be accessed from your web browser here: https://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com/
