The Huawei E5832S is the revised version of the E5832 portable wireless hotspot and USB 3G modem which I have detailed previously (http://blog.brightpointuk.co.uk/configuring-huawei-e5832-e5830-imo). The "S" largely stands for "Screen": the E5832S having an on-board LED screen with detailed status information about the device's power, WiFi and 3G elements, rather than just coloured LED lights as with the standard E5832.

The LM009 from LM Technologies is a wireless access point and Ethernet router, capable of connecting to existing cable / xDSL broadband modem and also featuring a USB port for use with a 3G HSPA modem, enabling both wired and wireless Internet access from connected clients via fixed-line and cellular service, all in one pocket-sized portable device.
The LM009 incorporates a number of feature-rich networking services providing all the functionality a small office or temporary field site may require, including:
3G Routers are typically wireless access points with built in firewall and virtual server capability that take a SIM card and operate on high-speed 3G mobile networks. They can be used in a variety of scenarios to fulfil a number of different roles:

Key Features

The E5832 is a very handy little device indeed - one of the first battery-powered 3G wireless routers on the market.
Taking a SIM card and providing 3G data service at up to 7.2Mbps, the device is also a WiFi access point, meaning that you can share the 3G connection between multiple WiFi enabled clients. Whilst these devices have been available for a while now, this device is battery-powered and measures only 93mm x 48mm!

Back in July I was fortunate enough to be handed a prototype release of the E5832 (http://blog.brightpointuk.co.uk/introducing-huawei-e5832-wireless-modem-...) and I looked at the Mobile Partner software that accompanied it.
For the uninitiated, the Huawei E5832 is also known as the iMo, a battery-powered 3G wireless router: their answer to the Novatel MiFi.
Configure your PC to "obtain an IP address automatically":

Connect the 3G Soho to the PC via the supplied ethernet cable. After a few moments your PC will be assigned an IP address automatically by the Soho. Launch a web browser and connect to the IP address of the Soho, which by default is http://192.168.1.254
You will be prompted for a username and password to login, use 'admin' for both, the following screen will be displayed:

Although perhaps not a memorable product name, the E5832 is a very handy little device indeed - one of the first battery-powered 3G wireless routers on the market.

The X1 is the newest member of the GlobeSurfer family of wireless 3G routers, and essentially enables you to use your USB 3G Modem as a wireless access point:
