HTC have released an update to the HTC Sync application for Android devices running version 1.5 or 1.6 of the operating system: ie the Magic, Tattoo and the original Hero.
This application provides Outlook synchronisation and application installation, but does not provide the media, document and bookmark synchronisation features offered by HTC Sync 3 for later Android models.

HTC have released an updated version of the HTC Sync for Android application that provides support for all HTC Android devices running 2.1 or later of the Android operating system, including the Hero, Legend, Desire and Wildfire.
This means you can now enjoy Windows Media Player and iTunes synchronisation on all of the above devices as well as synchronisation of pictures, documents and bookmarks with the desktop, not to mention synchronisation of contacts and calendar with Outlook.

The latest version of the HTC Sync application, version 3.0, supports all HTC Android devices running Android 2.1 or later and adds the ability to synchronise with iTunes on Windows, provided that you are running iTunes 9.2 or later.
Simply select Music and select which Playlists you wish to synchronise with the device.

The software update to Android 2.2, which began rolling out to European Desire users over the weekend, brings with it the ability to use the device as a portable WiFi hotspot: enabling you to share the Desire's connection to the Internet from any other device in range via a WiFi connection.
Setup is quick and simple, simply launch the WiFi Hotspot application from the launcher:

HTC have released a separate version of HTC Sync for the Wildfire which enables synchronisation Contacts, Calendar, Music, Bookmarks and Documents between your Android device and your Windows desktop. The software is compatible with any HTC Android device running Android 2.1 or later.
