In order to connect the Motorola Xoom to a Mac via USB to transfer media, documents and other files to and from the Xoom to our desktop, you will first need to download and install the Google Android File Transfer tool, available from http://www.android.com/filetransfer
Once installed, an icon will be added to the Application folder in the Finder for "Android File Transfer".
Launch the application to see the above window, then connect the Xoom via USB. The Xoom's file structure will then be displayed allowing you to drag and drop or copy and paste files to and from your Mac:

NOTE - if you have any other synchronisation software running on the Mac for Android devices, you should close these applications in the event that the File Transfer tool is not able to connect to the Xoom.
