The LM003 supports both Windows (2000 or later) as well as MacOS X (10.4 or later) and features a MicroSD memory card slot for use as a portable USB storage device.
The connection manager software also provides phone book and SMS management.
NOTE this guide is for MacOS only, for instructions on installing the LM003 on Windows, view this article - http://blog.brightpointuk.co.uk/installing-lm-technologies-lm003-usb-hsp...
Insert your SIM card into the LM003.
Insert the LM003 into an available USB port on your Mac, the new hardware will be detected automatically as a CD-ROM device:

Double click the icon to view the contents:

Double click the icon of the installer package file to begin the installation, the following window will be displayed:

Click Continue:

Select the drive where you want the required files copied to and click Continue:

Click Install. You will be prompted to enter an administrative username and password:

The required program files and drivers will be copied to the Mac, this process may take a few minutes. When complete click Close:

Launch the System Preferences from the Apple menu and select the Network icon, you will be prompted that new network devices have been detected:

Select the option to view Network Preferences. In the System Preferences window click the Apply button.
Browse to the Applications folder, a new icon will have been added for the HSDPA 3G Modem:

Launch the application, the following window will be displayed:

Click on the Connection tab:

Drop down the Configuration menu and select the option to Edit:

Depending on which unit you have purchased, you may see the settings for a particular operator already entered.
Click on the "+" symbol to add a new Configuration profile. In the Description field enter a name for the new profile, this can be anything meaningful to you to identify the connection - the name of your operator would be a sensible choice.
In the APN field enter the appropriate Access Point Name for your operator:
Vodafone - internet
Orange - orangeinternet
O2 - mobile.o2.co.uk
T-Mobile - general.t-mobile.co.uk
Three - three.co.uk
NOTE - these are CONTRACT connection settings, PAYG settings may differ.
In the Telephone Number field enter *99#
In the Account Name and Password fields enter the appropriate details for your operator. To be entirely honest these days these details are largely irrelevant, enter "web" for both unless specifically indicated by your operator.
Click Apply
NOTE - on this screen there is also a nice feature that allows you to set a data limit and specify an administrative password that must be entered if this limit is reached and the user wishes to exceed this limit. Unless the password is entered the unit will not permit the user to continue sending and receiving data (and incurring data charges).
The new connection profile will now be listed in the Connection window:

Click Connect to initiate the connection. After a few moments you will be connected to the Internet:

The Phonebook application allows you to manage the names and numbers stored on your SIM card:

The SMS application allows you to send and view text messages:

The My Account tab allows you to view connection history data:
