The LM003 supports both Windows (2000 or later) as well as MacOS X (10.4 or later) and features a MicroSD memory card slot for use as a portable USB storage device.
The connection manager software also provides phone book and SMS management.
NOTE this guide is for Windows only, for instructions on installing the LM003 on MacOS, view this article - http://blog.brightpointuk.co.uk/installing-lm-technologies-lm003-usb-hsp...
Insert your SIM card into the LM003.
Insert the LM003 into an available USB port on your PC, the new hardware will be detected automatically as a CD-ROM device which will autorun:

Should the device not autorun, open My Computer, select the device and double click the "autorun.exe" file, if prompted to accept the execution by User Account Control (UAC) select Yes:

The required program files and driver files will now be copied to the PC, this process may take a few minutes:

When complete, click Finish:

The device will now be re-detected as a 3G modem, if prompted to confirm this process again by User Access Control, select Yes:

You may be prompted to confirm execution of this process up to 4 times, select Yes each time prompted to complete the process. When complete you will be informed that the device is ready to use:

A new icon will be added to the Desktop for an HSPA USB Modem:

Double click the icon to launch the Connection Manager, again if prompted to confirm the execution of the application by UAC select Yes:

The following window will be displayed:

A number of operator settings are pre-defined in the software. Drop down the Connection Name menu to view the list and select your operator if it is listed:

To enter connection settings manually, select New:

Enter a name for the new profile, this can be anything meaningful to you to identify the new profile - the name of your operator would be a sensible choice.
In the APN field enter the appropriate Access Point Name for your operator:
Vodafone - internet
Orange - orangeinternet
O2 - mobile.o2.co.uk
T-Mobile - general.t-mobile.co.uk
Three - three.co.uk
NOTE - these are CONTRACT connection settings, PAYG settings may differ.
In the Phone Number field enter *99#
In the User Name and Password fields enter the appropriate details for your operator. To be entirely honest these days these details are largely irrelevant, enter "web" for both unless specifically indicated by your operator.
Click OK. The new connection profile will now be listed in the available profiles. Click Save to set the profile as the default.
Click Connect to initiate the Internet connection, after a few moments you will be connected to the Internet:

Once connected to the Internet, Windows may prompt you to define what type of network connection the new profile belongs to:

Select an appropriate option and click Close.
The Phonebook application allows you to manage the names and numbers stored on your SIM card:

The SMS application allows you to send and view text messages:
