There is no accompanying CD with the Compass USB modem, instead you can simply insert the device directly into an available USB port on your PC.
Windows will detect the new hardware automatically as a USB storage device and launch the installation utility automatically:

Click OK, the following window will be displayed:

Click Next, the following window will be displayed:

Select the option to accept the license agreement and click Install. The necessary program files will be copied to your PC and the required driver files installed. This process may take a few minutes. Once the drivers have been installed Windows will again find new hardware and now install the 3G modem:

DO NOT REMOVE THE 888 UNIT FROM THE PC while this process completes. The installation will be complete when you see the message indicating that the new hardware is installed and ready to use:

Click Finish on the installation wizard:

The 3G Watcher connection manager software will launch automatically:

The software will automatically determine the correct connection settings to use from the SIM card that has been inserted. To verify the settings, or to enter the settings for a private connection, open the Tools menu and select Connections. The following window will be displayed:
