The ChaCha features a new version of HTC Sense designed specifically to suit the size of the screen on the device. Facebook

With its dedicated Facebook button, your social network updates can be accessed literally with a single touch on the ChaCha. Running the latest version of Facebook for Android as well as a separate Facebook Chat application, all the Facebook functionality you require from a mobile device is available as standard. HTC's Peep client for Twitter provides full access to the instant messaging and micro-blogging service too.

Exchange Email

The ChaCha features HTC's own Exchange ActiveSync client providing push-based bi-directional synchronisation of email, contacts and calendar data with Microsoft Exchange 2003 SP2 or later.

Setting up your Exchange email account requires that you know 4 pieces of information:

• Server address - this is usually the same address as that used to access your email via a web browser, in the form "mail.compant.com"
• Username
• Password
• Domain - this information will be the same as that used on your desktop or laptop PC when you log in: the contents of the "Log Into" field below the username and password fields

Support for HTML-formatted emails is available. Multiple Exchange email accounts (as well as POP and IMAP email accounts) can be configured and displayed in a single unified Inbox view

Mail can be pushed to devices as soon as it arrives on the server, or optionally can be synchronised on a schedule:

Connectivity

Including high-speed cellular data, WiFi USB and Bluetooth connectivity options, the ChaCha can always be connected to the Internet, can share its connection to the Internet with other devices, or can also share other devices' Internet connections.

WiFi Hotspot

The ChaCha, as with all HTC Android models since the Desire before it, features the ability to share its cellular connection to the Internet with other devices via WiFi: in effect to act as a wireless hotspot for any other device with WiFi capability:

USB

The ChaCha can also share its cellular connection to the Internet via USB, on both Windows and MacOS

Featuring Bluetooth connectivity, the ChaCha can't be used to share its connection to the Internet via Bluetooth, but can be used to share files using its built-in FTP server:

VoIP

Boasting Android 2.3.3, the ChaCha can be used as a wireless extension of your corporate SIP VoIP telephone system, enabling you to make and receive calls for "free" when in the office, and also receive calls made to your desk phone when in your office but not necessarily at your desk. Summary

The ChaCha is a fully-featured, social network-integrated, full hardware keyboard, fully-connectable, portable Android-powered Smartphone. The screen size may not suit all tastes, but for those of you who rue the demise of a device with the form factor of the Snap then this device may be for you. The lack of a document editing application such as that featured on the Desire HD and Incredible S may not make the ChaCha a true business phone, but then the ChaCha is arguably not principally aimed at that market.
