Motorola Defy - unable to download applications from the Android Market
If you find that you are not able to access the Android Market or download any applications, or access large email attachments, browse the web or retrieve pictures from social networking sites, verify whether you have enabled the Defy's built-in Data Saver feature.
This feature can be enabled during the initial device setup wizard, or can be enabled within the Data Manager settings screen. The Data Saver is a utility from Motorola designed to assist users on limited data plans with their mobile operator to manage their data consumption. Effectively it requires you to have a WiFi-based connection to the Internet to perform any of the above actions. Should you not require this feature, or wish to disable the feature on a one-time basis to access your cellular data, the Data Saver feature should be disabled.
The Data Saver can be accessed under Settings --> Data Manager --> Data Saver:
